ORAA SCHOLARSHIP & SERVICE AWARD PROGRAM
ORAA gives out an annual $300 scholarship to a graduating ORHS senior who has demonstrated excellence in Oyster River Community Organizing, and an additional $100 to a junior or senior who has volunteered a significant amount of time and energy helping the Association with fundraising events and generating student awareness of the organization. Through these awards we hope to generate future leaders in the Alumni Association.
ORAA Scholarship winners are selected based on teacher and administrator recommendation. Any work the student has done as a volunteer intern for the Oyster River Alumni Association is taken into account, but is not the sole basis of selection. The ORAA Service Award is largely given to students who have devoted time and energy in the volunteer ORAA internship program.
Since the inception of the ORAA Scholarship in 2010 and Service Award in 2015, ORAA has given out a total of $2,300 in funding. Funds are raised through a combination of direct alumni//community donations, wine tasting events, and the Bobcat Bolt race. Please go to our DONATION PAGE to support the ORAA scholarship and service award for 2016. Check out our past Scholarship and Service Award winners!
